Keiser Report: Exorbitant Privilege (Russia Today)

Britain and the US are in a mess, and it is much the same mess, and a good indicator of where we are is seen by looking towards the USA.

The British people entered WW2 with the worlds greatest Empire, the world's greatest Navy, and was still in the top three manufacturing powers.

By 1945, Great Britain was bust. Bankrupt.

In the past fifty years, both the US and UK have removed the VAST majority of MANUFACTURING to China, India Brazil and other gutters of the Third World, and replaced that with - what? IT, Finance and Investments, and retail, much of it garbage low paid work, leaving the people with nothing to spend on anything but what they NEED, not what they want.

Five years. The present recession started in 2008..... watch the video ....

My God, we're in real trouble.

IMF fears 'social explosion' from world jobs crisis - Telegraph

Oh dear.
To be on the safe side: buy some canned food, perhaps some method of cooking it (say a petrol stove), and something like a machete to defend yourself with. If you live in the US, you've probably done this if you're reading this blog.

Daily Mail

We're reaching the end of the organised asset strip of the Western nations. The disintegration is happening. And right to the final crashing end, the gang of traitors will tell us that everything will be fine, we'll get back on track etc. That's as the £ loses value for trading with, and we see inflation eating away at the value of our money, the country is being filled to the neck with Islamists, Africans and other legal and illegal immigrants.

There can be no recovery, because there is no manufacturing base left. There can be no recovery because the government has handed absolute control of the economy of Britain to the global International Finance capitalists. There can be no recovery because the most important enterprises in the British economy - the utilities - are in the hands of - well, who? Certainly not anyone in Britain, for sure.

We're in trouble. The politicians will do nothing, except increase the liberal-fascist-communist dictatorship, to control the social discontent, until they can cut and run.

IMF fears 'social explosion' from world jobs crisis
America and Europe face the worst jobs crisis since the 1930s and risk "an explosion of social unrest" unless they tread carefully, the International Monetary Fund has warned.

"The labour market is in dire straits. The Great Recession has left behind a waste land of unemployment," said Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the IMF's chief, at an Oslo jobs summit with the International Labour Federation (ILO).
He said a double-dip recession remains unlikely but stressed that the world has not yet escaped a deeper social crisis. He called it a grave error to think the West was safe again after teetering so close to the abyss last year. "We are not safe," he said.
A joint IMF-ILO report said 30m jobs had been lost since the crisis, three quarters in richer

High and long-lasting unemployment represents a risk to the stability of existing democracies," it said.
The study cited evidence that victims of recession in their early twenties suffer lifetime damage and lose faith in public institutions. A new twist is an apparent decline in the "employment intensity of growth" as rebounding output requires fewer extra workers. As such, it may be hard to re-absorb those laid off even if recovery gathers pace. The world must create 45m jobs a year for the next decade just to tread water.
Olivier Blanchard, the IMF's chief economist, said the percentage of workers laid off for long stints has been rising with each downturn for decades but the figures have surged this time.
"Long-term unemployment is alarmingly high: in the US, half the unemployed have been out of work for over six months, something we have not seen since the Great Depression," he said.
Spain has seen the biggest shock, with unemployment near 20pc. Britain's rate has risen from 5.3pc to 7.8pc over the last two years, a slightly better record than the OECD average. This contrasts with the 1970s and early 1980s when Britain was notoriously worse. UK jobless today totals 2.48m.
Mr Blanchard called for extra monetary stimulus as the first line of defence if "downside risks to growth materialise", but said authorities should not rule out another fiscal boost, despite de

"Most advanced countries should not tighten fiscal policies before 2011: tightening sooner could undermine recovery," said the report, rebuking Britain's Coalition, Germany's austerity hawks, and US Republicans. Under French socialist Strauss-Kahn, the IMF has assumed a Keynesian flavour.
The report skirts the contentious issue of whether globalisation lets companies engage in "labour arbitrage", locating plant in low-wage economies such as China to ship products back to the West. Nor does it grapple with the trade distortions caused by China's currency policy, except to call on "surplus countries" to play their part in rebalancing.
The IMF said there may be a link between rising inequality within Western economies and deflating demand.
Historians say the last time that the wealth gap reached such skewed extremes was in 1928-1929. Some argue that wealth concentration may cause investment to outstrip demand, leading to over-capacity. This can trap the world in a slump.

In B&Q they cost 20p. So why does the NHS spend £99 for a screw to put in your hip? | Mail Online

Comment:

As engineering and manufacturing, the real core of any economy, was sold off at cut price and asset stripped by the government, from the mid nineteen sixties through to today, people who saw their jobs shipped to Asia and South America, jobs had to be found.

So, successive governments just spent more money, and employed more people, in the public services. Then as those companies who supplied manufacturing and engineering found their order books dry up, they realised that they could bleed the tax payer dry when supplying things essential to the operatio ofcolleges, schools and such like. And the government was happy to see it.

These policies have bled the system dry.  Millions now work either in, or supply, the public service. Everyone else works in supermarkets and burger bars for minimum wage. There's no money left, the banks are raping and pillaging the last few assets, and will soon relocate.

The end is near friends.

Every year, the NHS spends £500 million on orthopaedic equipment, but according to one insider they are being completely ripped off. In a damning expose, a medical sales rep, under the cover of anonymity, talks to VICTORIA LAMBERT about the used-car-sales tactics of companies which make millions from the NHS.

The NHS needs to save £20 billion in the next four years, according to the British Medical Association — yet in all the debate over which operations are at risk and whether we can afford new cancer drugs such as Avastin, there is one solution which could save the health service millions of pounds without costing a job or delaying treatment.

What could be so simple that politicians, doctors, managers and the public haven’t already considered it? Well, just this: the NHS needs to learn smarter shopping.
At the moment, most health trusts squander a fortune paying deliberately over-inflated prices for surgical supplies, each trust spending between £3million and £4million a year on orthopaedic supplies alone — money that could be saved overnight if managers just got together and agreed to flex their vast purchasing power and demand lower prices from the companies which produce the goods they need, or by being more rigorous in their decisions over which product to buy.

Old Holborn: Big Issue, Sir?

This post made me laugh, laugh and laugh again. Worth it for thast, without the point it  neatly makes. Link at the bottom.

It costs us £1M to produce this, thanks to Socialists
Revolutionary. The founder of the Big Issue, John Bird has demanded that the Govt slash benefits. His logic is absolutely flawless.
80% of people selling the Big Issue were raised in social care programmes costing over £2000 a week. If they've been in care for ten years, that's cost you and I £1M for each and every one of them. In comparison, sending them to Eton for ten years would have cost just a quarter of that.
Just think of the misery spared, the opportunities and avenues opened up by a first class education, the payback in productive and responsible citizens. Cracking idea. Now, let's see private schools applying to councils to take their vulnerable children in care away from a life of crime, drugs and alcohol and into a life of education, responsibility and personal wealth.
Will it happen? Will it fuck. The state has built an enormous and expensive apparatus for churning out "victims" who will need to be fed, housed and clothed exclusively by the State. No way are half a million social workers, "outreach" workers and diversity coordinators going to hand over their budgets and jobs to people who actually get the job done at a quarter of the cost.

"Please stay poor. My job and pension depend on it"
John goes further. By slashing benefits, the drugs trade will collapse, along with fast food outlets and betting shops. All happily sponsored using OUR money to keep people in poverty and misery
If you were applying for a job in a private company, no one would expect the same generous pension as were on offer 20 years ago. The same should apply to the benefits system
Do it. Cut hard and cut now. No one wants to be revisiting this in five years time. Free the poor from the clutches of the State. At last.
