In former recessions/slumps/depressions, one of two things have happened: either the government has made cuts to BOTH taxation and services (1929 -31, Ramsay McDonald, Britain)  or have taxed and borrowed and spent like drunken sailors (1933-41, Roosevelt, USA).
However this time, they're taxing, cutting and the money is being funneled out and away from the UK, into the pockets of the unseen bankers. This is true across Europe (except in the Fourth Reich, where they are safe - relatively - from the Rothschilds within their fortress of BMW, VW and BASF).
This is endgame:  the great Synagogue of Satan, whose Chairman and CEO is Rothschild, has decided to completely gut what they can from the peoples and nations of Europe and go, most likely to China or Dubai.

Britain's 38 million savers have been urged to invest their money in the stock market after being warned that for many of them it is now a "waste of time" putting their cash into a savings account.

There is truth in the above, of course: there are very few savings accounts which pay anything even close to the true rate of inflation (which appears, with RPI, to be around 4.5 - 5%).
Most people are too ignorant to play the stock market, where we know much of the action and money happens on a predetermined and organized pattern of nudges, winks and handshakes. .This is nothing more than the final large financial rape, to squeeze out the last few drops of blood from the few with any savings left who haven't cleared their debts with them. 
There is now no real economy, merely tin boxes stuffed with Chinese manufacturers, Taiwanese toys, and German & French cars.  We manufacture nothing of note. Millions spend their day behind a till, waiting for a decreasing number of spening customers. What is left is now being assisted away from Britain by the EU, to raise employment levels in Europe's third world periphery of eastern Europe and the Balkans. 
Our economy and political system is in the hands of Mack the Knife.
There is an interesting feeling in the air. The English Defence League is being positioned for the role of new Brownshirts, both by the "LEFT" and "RIGHT" in the official press and blogosphere. The B.N.P. is to defend British Troopers from Islamopsychotics, yyoung ignorant "youth"  are being lead by the Jew boy Commies of the Trotskyist cliques and cells to probable mayhem, maiming and death (for some), the Anarchists are handing the State the opportunity to bring out the Defence of the Realm Act.
And at the same time, the financial rape is continuing, probably close to fruition, as much as Europe is on the revolutionary edge of torches and pitchforks:

IMF fears 'social explosion' from world jobs crisis

America and Europe face the worst jobs crisis since the 1930s and risk "an explosion of social unrest" unless they tread carefully, the International Monetary Fund has warned.

"The labour market is in dire straits. The Great Recession has left behind a waste land of unemployment," said Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the IMF's chief, at an Oslo jobs summit with the International Labour Federation (ILO).

He said a double-dip recession remains unlikely but stressed that the world has not yet escaped a deeper social crisis. He called it a grave error to think the West was safe again after teetering so close to the abyss last year. "We are not safe," he said.

The study cited evidence that victims of recession in their early twenties suffer lifetime damage and lose faith in public institutions. Spain has seen the biggest shock, with unemployment near 20pc. Britain's rate has risen from 5.3pc to 7.8pc over the last two years, a slightly better record than the OECD average. This contrasts with the 1970s and early 1980s when Britain was notoriously worse. UK jobless today totals 2.48m.

All that will happen in the economy is the worth of Gilts (government bonds) will fall and become harder to sell, forcing the rate nof return - the percentage return on the investment - to rise, meaning more public service cuts to pay the interest. It will cost the government more to borrow money, all that's keeping Britain afloat at the moment.

The jump, from 1.7 per cent in June, is likely if global food commodity prices continue to rise, said Simon Ward, chief economist at Henderson.

Rising food costs could have the effect of pushing up the consumer prices index (CPI), the official measure of inflation, to 4 per cent – double the Bank of England's 2 per cent target, warned Mr Ward. 

The impact on household budgets could even persuade the Coalition to cancel its planned rise in VAT, he added.

"Such an increase [in food prices] would hit consumer spending and recovery prospects and could destabilise inflationary expectations," said Mr Ward.

"This could warrant postponing or cancelling the coming VAT hike."

The Food and Agriculture Organisation food index, which measures prices of meat, dairy products, cereals, oils and fats, and sugar on a monthly basis, rose by an annual 22 per cent in August, the fastest rate since September 2008.

Food prices have increased further in September, Mr Ward said.

According to the British Retail Consortium, wheat prices alone have risen by 60 per cent over the past 12 months following crop failures in Russia and its subsequent ban on exports.

That has had a direct impact on the prices of foods containing wheat, but also on the cost of animal feed which in turn is pushing up meat prices.

Simon Hayes, an economist at Barclays Capital, said that rising food prices were a reminder that Britain's "inflation problem has not gone away".

He forecast that official figures to be released on Tuesday would show that the CPI rose to 3.2 per cent in August, from 3.1 per cent in July.

Britain’s fast-rising population is now close to 62million, the latest count showed yesterday. 

Numbers of people in the country went up by 394,000 to reach 61,792,000 by the middle of last year, the Office for National Statistics said. 

The increase of 0.6 per cent on the previous year means the population has been rising at the same rapid rate since the Millennium, mainly driven by high levels of immigration.

Some 196,000 more people moved to the country than left in 2009 – compared with a net migration of 163,000 in the previous year.The figures are for the last full year of the Labour Government and raise serious questions over the effectiveness of its flagship points based system that was introduced to curb immigration. 

It also means more than three million foreign nationals were added to the British population under Labour's watch since 1997.
Separate figures showed student visas have increased by a third renewing fears the route is being exploited as a loophole for both legal and illegal immigration.
The number of migrants allowed to the stay permanently also increased by a third while grants of asylum (4,190) hit their highest level for seven years, according to figures from the Home Office and Office for National Statistics (ONS).
Damian Green, the immigration minister, said the Coalition Government had inherited an out-of-control system while critics said Labour had left a "legacy of chaos".
Rising net immigration will be a major headache for the new Government which has pledged to bring it down to the "tens of thousands".
A total of 567,000 people migrated to Britain last year while only 371,000 emigrated leaving a net inflow of 196,000.
If the movement of Britons is removed then there was an net inflow of 226,000 foreign nationals in 2009. That took the total of foreign migrants who moved to the UK since 1997 to 3.2 million.
The increase in net migration is a blow to the points based system which Labour phased in from early 2008. The system was supposed to curb inflows across all sectors from work permits to student visas.
While work visas fell last year the number of student visas has risen sharply.
In the 12 months to June this year, a total of 362,015 foreign students were allowed to come and study in the UK, an increase of 35 per cent on the previous year, according to the ONS.
The student visa regime is expected to be the next focus of attention for the Home Office after announcing earlier this year that is plans to impose a cap on work-related immigration.
There are also growing concerns that the system is seen as an easy route in to Britain especially unlawfully via bogus colleges.
Figures released last year showed bogus colleges were being discovered at a rate of almost two a month.
Other Home Office figures showed some 224,390 people were granted settlement in Britain in the year up to June, a 37 per cent rise on the previous 12 months.
Mr Green said: "These figures show that Labour’s immigration legacy is even worse than anyone feared. They show that the Points-Based System was out of control and would not deliver a sustainable level of net migration despite Gordon Brown’s claims throughout the general election campaign.
“The task facing the new government is to bear down on all routes of immigration. We can now see how necessary our proposed limit on economic immigration is. This will be accompanied by action on other routes of immigration and settlement. We will be unveiling these over the coming months.”
Sir Andrew Green, chairman of Migrationwatch, a think-tank, said: "The previous Government's talk of a 'tough' points based system has proved to be deeply flawed.
"Sixty per cent of the system comprises of students and we are now admitting nearly 1,000 a day with absolutely no checks on their departure.
"The Coalition Government has inherited a legacy of chaos."
On the three million figure, he added: "This is another milestone in the history of the Labour Government's incompetence.

The key finding: there are fewer British-born workers in the first quarter of 2009 than Q1 of 1997. The trend of employers preferring immigrants, which we saw during the boom, has become more marked still during the bust.

I count myself as a supporter of immigration. But there is no doubt that mass immigration has given ministers the option of ignoring our own unemployed. If we didn’t have this unending tap of motivated workers then Britain would be forced to confront the fact that so many of its workers are being incentivised to do nothing by the welfare state. Here’s what the benefit tally, including ‘hidden unemployment’, has looked like in the last decade – using the DWP’s definition of out-of-work benefits. 

At no point in the boom did the number on out-of-work benefits fall  below five million souls. Almost half have been on welfare for five years or more – and are, therefore, statistically more likely to die than to work again. As I say, were it not for immigration, we’d be forced to confront this problem or our economy would not grow. When I was a business journalist in the late 1990s, I remember writing stories about how bus companies were recruiting in homeless shelters because they couldn’t find the staff. The people in those shelters were being offered structure to their lives, from an employer forced by economic conditions to deal with the greater risk they pose. It was a sign of economic growth addressing social problems – as it should be.
